Rush-hour Socialising

London Rush-hour Socialising

We all know that Brits like to socialise. That's something they may be quite good in: »Let's go for a drink« or »How are you mate?« However, especially here in London, there's is another form of socialising. It's called »Squeezing« or others also call it »Move into the car, please«. It's a great opportunity to meet the oddest people but also getting very close to the person you have been fancying for a long time because it is not unusual to see your rush-hour mates another time.

Sometimes I think people like this kind of socialising as a kind of drug replacement. It is quite an amazing experience to stand close to a guy who put the latest BOSS after-shave on in the morning. Or breath deeply some of the rouge the lady in front of you just puts on her face hoping to attract new mates on her trip to work. But it is also a perfect excuse to call in off-sick at work the next day because you can say that on your way back from having a drink with mates, some of your other mates on the Tube must have given your a nasty flu.

Happy squeezing, but without me. I like to socialise on the platform waiting for the next train that is usually just one minute behind.
