The Race is on

One day late due to taken part in a church service yesterday honoring the late Pope, the Prime Minister Tony Blair today went to the Queen to ask her dissolving the Parliament. This is the traditional ritual before the Prime Minister can call the General Elections. So Mr Blair did today and the race is now on. The Finish Line will be May 5th, 2005 - a Thursday. That is another British ritual having the General Elections on a Thursday instead on a Sunday as it is usual in many countries.

I am quite keen who is going to win, but it may become a very close run. The Conservatives dig in very national wounds like immigration, health care system or national security. Labour, the current Government, however, argues with a strong and solid economy since they are in the Government and human rights.

It will become an interesting and exciting race. Let's see who will have the the best time at the finishing line on May 5th, 2005.

After long struggling with the death, The Holy Father, The Pope John Paul II, has died. Though I am not a Catholic, I respect this man and I hope he rests in peace. He became Pope in the same year when I was born. So all my life I can remember no other Pope than him.
